Sea Holly, a lot like thistles, ready for arrangement.

It sounds like it’s a couple of floral names thrown together with an ampersand but the origins of Thistle & Fern have nothing to do with flowers.

Thistle & Fern were sisters that once lived in Carla’s house. They were born in the late 1800s, the daughters of Scottish immigrants, and now buried in the Rutherglen cemetery.
